ED LOWE & FRIENDS UPDATE

COVENTRY MAN TOUCHED BY CANCER APPEALS FOR HELP.
Coventry - March 26th 2007
Twenty three year old Ed Lowe from Willenhall will this week hold a charity night in memory of the much loved TV Presenter Caron Keating. The former Blue Peter star died on April 13th 2004 after a seven year battle with breast cancer - she was just forty one years old. Caron left behind a husband and two young sons. This Friday 30th March a special musical extravaganza will be held in aid of the Caron Keating Foundation set up by Caron's family in her memory shortly after her death.
Coventry University student Ed has his own experiences of the disease, his mother Bridget was diagnosed with cancer in the 1990s. After treatment she made a full recovery but the memory of that time still lives on, Ed said ' I was only seven or eight when my mother had cancer but I can still remember how frightening it was for us all. We hoped and prayed she'd pull through and thank God she did. Caron's family wasn't so fortunate and that's why I've decided to hold this charity evening almost three years to the day Caron left our world'
The charity night takes place at The Standard Triumph Club, Tile Hill Lane, Tile Hill, Coventry CV4 9DG. It will be hosted by Ed and ITV 1 Central News Presenter Chris James. X Factor 2004 finalists 2togo will headline the event.
There will also be an auction in aid of the Foundation. Items include a rare print of a painting created by Caron when she attended art classes in Byron Bay, Australia during her fight against the disease. Guests can also bid for tickets to a match at Coventry City, a meal for two at Wing Wah restaurant in Tile Hill and dinner at Browns in the City Centre.
Gloria Hunniford said ' We have to live with the fact that Caron didn't win her battle in the end - but my God she fought it well for seven years with such tenacity and such courage and such bravery. * I hope the evening is a great success.'
Tickets are £5, available from the club or on the door. The show starts at 7.30pm
